Four clubs, eight metrics
On every axis, farther out = a better position
How we compared the clubs
Lines show position among the 18 clubs, not raw totals. On the fewer-goals-conceded axis, lower goals conceded per game places a club farther out, so outward consistently means a better performance.
Goals conceded / game: Galatasaray: 1.33 · Fenerbahçe: 0.89 · Beşiktaş: 1.11 · Trabzonspor: 0.89

BEHIND THE SCORE
Football stories.
People and league history, with clearly scoped statistical analysis.
What did VAR change in Turkish football?
Eight seasons on each side test expectations of more goals, more penalties and less home advantage. The results resist a single-technology explanation.
Does more scoring at both ends mean a more competitive league?
Two seasons seemed to show narrower winning margins. Testing the idea across 64 complete seasons revealed why scoring at both ends is not a competition measure on its own.
How did three points change football’s incentives?
Twelve wins once secured the title; in another season, 31 were insufficient. We compare the value of a draw, scoring averages and the changing title race.
Which half brings the best from the big four?
Fenerbahçe’s second-half chance quality fell while Galatasaray created more. For Beşiktaş and Trabzonspor, goals and opportunity production did not move together.
How did Bursaspor win the title in 2010?
Two final-day results decided the title. Bursaspor reached that point by combining their return against leading opponents with points across the rest of the league, without depending on one prolific scorer.
