Which numbers tell Lefter’s story?
His 423 goals did not belong to one league. We follow the career through Istanbul, Italy and France, separating international football and the championships he won.

Where do the 423 goals belong?
Comparing Lefter only with scorers from the national league starting in 1959 leaves out much of his career. He joined Fenerbahçe in 1947 and was 31 when that league began. The useful question is which competitions produced his substantial total.
The 615 appearances and 423 goals credited to his Fenerbahçe career are a broad club record that includes friendlies. That yields about 0.69 goals per appearance within that scope, not an equivalent of an official league-only scoring rate. Combining the Istanbul leagues, Millî Küme and national league in one column also hides the football system in which he played.

What happened in Europe?
At Fiorentina in 1951/52 he scored four in 30 Serie A appearances as the club finished fourth. His Nice league record the following season is 12 appearances and two goals, with the club 13th. Much later, in 1964/65, he scored twice in five league games for runners-up AEK. None of these spells brought a domestic league title abroad.
Nice’s own profile lists 16 appearances and five goals without defining the competition scope. We retain the league series separately rather than treating the club profile as an interchangeable total.

What did he win at Fenerbahçe?
Across his two Fenerbahçe spells, 1947–1951 and 1953–1964, he won the national league in 1959, 1960/61 and 1963/64. The 1950 Millî Küme and Istanbul league titles in 1947/48, 1956/57 and 1958/59 belong alongside them under their own competition names. We do not credit him with Fenerbahçe’s 1952/53 title while he was at Nice.
His 14 goals made him the 1950 Millî Küme top scorer, and he also topped the Istanbul Professional League scoring in 1953/54. A verified competition-by-competition breakdown of all 423 goals remains unavailable; the two known scoring honours do not justify inventing that breakdown.
A different international measure
He scored 21 in 46 senior internationals, about 0.46 per appearance, and captained the side nine times. At the 1954 World Cup he scored twice in three matches. The frequently quoted 50 internationals combine senior, B and youth teams; they are not 50 senior caps.
Together these records show more than a large headline number. Lefter scored across different league structures, three countries and international football. His scoring rate was not identical everywhere, but he remained influential as Turkish football moved from city leagues to a national competition. That continuity is central to his career.
